Alumnae High Tea - Your Personal Invitation

The Alumnae Committee would like to invite you to the 2019 Alumnae High Tea, to be held on Sunday the 8th December in the Baradene Auditorium at 2.30pm.

This event is not only a time to reminisce with your Alumnae friends & community, but also a time when we will hear from our 2019 Alumnae Meritae Award recipient.

This year, again, hasn't been short of nominations and, again, we have read about some amazing Alumnae and their achievements - both professionally and in their community - who are embracing the Cor unum spirit.

We are thrilled to announce that Xanthe White, is the recipient of our 2019 Alumnae Meritae Award.

Xanthe White (class of 1993) is one of New Zealand’s most highly regarded landscape designers. Her talented work ranges from private commissions to major urban projects. Xanthe has won numerous awards for her work including gold and silver medals, and the People’s Choice award at the Ellerslie International Flower Show. She also won a Silver Gilt award at the RHS Chelsea Flower Show, and a gold medal and Best Design award at the Gardening World Cup in Japan. She has twice been introduced to the Queen!

Xanthe strongly believes sustainability can be achieved through passive design. Rather than reinventing the wheel, she believes in creating simple, functional living spaces, then filling in gaps and underused spaces as diversely as possible. This year Xanthe has worked with Baradene College Ltd, in using remnants of the college chapel from the Jubilee building to design a stunning fountain to commemorate St Philippine Rose Duschene and reflect on Philippine's journey.

If you'd like to hear more from Xanthe White, and why we felt she was such a worthy winner, please click on the link below to book. Tickets are $35 each.
